Shakti शक्ति, Śakti; lit. is the Sanskrit word for "energy, creation, strength, ability, power." Shakti is your feminine essence.

I am living proof of a sovereign, sensual, embodied woman, that dances her way between different cultures and spaces, and is anchored to the knowing of who she truly is and where she belongs. It is my lifelong commitment to share the gifts of the feminine, living in flow with our cyclic nature, ancestral reconnection, and transformation through embodiment of your sensual, True self.

Like many South Asian women, I was raised in a strict religious household and experienced the trauma of internalised oppression - our hyper-masculine, colonial-patriarchal cultural messaging that disconnected me from my body, suppressed and devalued my femininity, sensuality, and sexuality. This ranged from pleasure taboos to body shame, racial trauma, and rejection of my Indian-ness (ancestral disembodiment).

I was taught to distrust my body from early on and seek approval outside of myself. I must always seek permission before I act. I don’t belong anywhere. I am not worthy of holding boundaries. I was conditioned to give my power away to men, positions of authority, and elders. I was chronically unwell and felt the collective dis-ease across my community, as we are often physically and spiritually disconnected from our ancestry, our homelands, and our great Mother Earth too.

I was disembodied, disempowered, and disconnected from my body - and my feminine essence and power.

It wasn’t until my body was burned out from chronic pain, work addiction, unresolved trauma, and a menstrual disorder that I began my journey onto an embodied feminine path. I recovered the natural healing intelligence of my body. I regained my confidence as I physically healed and started letting my body lead. The transformation was potent, as I also began decolonising, decentering whiteness, dismantling patriarchal beliefs, began standing in my truth unapologetically, and magnetised extraordinary opportunities into my life.

My journey has taught me that the Feminine connects us to nature, the land, our ancestors’, and most importantly, home to ourselves.
